Privacy Policy

Care Symbol Guide is a free, informational reference for laundry care symbols. We’ve kept it simple: there are no user accounts and no sign-ups, and we don’t ask you for any personal information to read the site. The one place you can send us anything is the contact form, described below.
The contact form
If you use the contact form, your message, and your name and email address if you choose to include them, are sent to us as an email through Resend, our email delivery provider. That is the whole journey: form to inbox. We don’t store submissions in a database, and we use your email address only to reply to you. Both name and email are optional; a message on its own is enough.
What we store
The only value the site saves in your browser is your region preference (US or International). It is kept in your browser’s local storage so the symbols show the right way on your next visit. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we host ourselves, to understand aggregate traffic such as page views and referrers. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t collect personal information, and doesn’t track you across other sites.
Advertising & cookies
This site is supported by advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use advertising cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
You can control or opt out of personalized advertising:
- Google Ads Settings
- aboutads.info (US) and Your Online Choices (EU)
- More on how Google uses data from sites that use its services: Google’s policy
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which may log standard technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above will change when we do.
A guide, not a guarantee. When in doubt, follow the instructions printed on your garment’s own label.
